Sword-and-sorcery game characters perform empty, often furious power displays, building a percussive texture of fantasy noise. The camera crosses within their digital bodies, exposing the thin illusion that so-called "intelligent" systems depend upon, as well our impulse to suspend disbelief when faced with marginally convincing representation.
