Sword-and-sorcery video game characters perform displays of power, building to a percussive texture of
fierce fantasy noise. The virtual camera crosses inside the boundaries of their digital bodies, exposing the
game system's thin line between illusion and abstraction, as well as our tendency to suspend disbelief.
The project's title references two existing works: the song Soul Sacrifice by Santana which contains Michael Shrieve’s groundbreaking drum solo performed at Woodstock in 1969; and Soul Sacrifice, a popular 2013 action fantasy game in which players sacrifice parts of their body to gain abilities.
